  - Judge Tina Boyer

Judge Tina Boyer, the first female judge elected to the Perry County Court of Common Pleas, General Division, has announced that she will seek re-election in 2026 continuing her commitment to fairness, integrity, and service to the citizens of Perry County.

A lifelong resident of Perry County, Judge Boyer was raised in Somerset, Ohio, the fourth of five daughters born to Robert and Patricia Sterner. She graduated as co-valedictorian from Sheridan High School in Thornville before earning her Bachelor of Arts degree Summa Cum Laude from Ohio University. She went on to receive her Juris Doctorate Cum Laude from Capital University Law School.

Following law school, Judge Boyer entered private practice and began a long career of public service in Perry County. She served as Magistrate for the Perry County Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile Division from 1995 to 2009, and as Magistrate for the General Division from 1999 to 2010. In July 2010, she made history when she was sworn in as the Perry County Court of Common Pleas, General Division Judge, becoming the first woman to hold that position. She is currently serving her third term as judge.

Judge Boyer is admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, and the United States Supreme Court. She is a member of the Perry County Bar Association, where she has served as Secretary, Vice President, and President.
